The two days’ workshop run by Dan Philips the Director of the Resource Center of Marine in California, USA in Maharat Learning Center were very interactive and informative, covering the various technologies, apps and tools that can help educators working with student with learning challenges to teach reading, writing, studying, social interaction and the use of the resources available for them to succeed in mainstream education. Virtual Reality, Robotics and other Assistive Technologies are useful in today’s world not only as a fun tool but as learning tool as well; it combines many features to teach students analytical skills, design and engineers concepts in a very interactive and fun way. “The world of technology is changing so rapidly, as educators we need to look towards the future and utilize the tools that students will have and need moving forward. Teaching and he reasons behind it are constant, but how we teach is consistently evolving based on the tools is consistently evolving based on the tools that we use.“ said Dan Philips who is visiting Dubai for the 2nd time to train on technology for education. “The future of education is in using technology tools for writing, reading and learning, today many accessibility tools are developed that allows universal teaching which means all students are enabled regardless of their needs and this would make a great difference in student’s success in the future.” Said Dr Hibah Shata the CEO and Managing Director of Maharat Learning Center.
