Welcome to the Global Technology 21st Century Tools for Special Education Workshop Series.
In the Global Technology 21st Century Tools for Special Education Workshop Series, Dan Phillips will address many ways to utilize electronic reading sources and multiple tools to produce written language using technology. Every student learns differently, particularly students with special educational needs. Students learn by seeing, doing, touching and experiencing, and Dan will demonstrate how to quickly produce educational content to allow students to read, write and communicate on any topic using technology.
Statistics show that 1 in 3 students’ struggle with reading traditional text and are now expected to produce written language work using technology, causing a significant gap between their vocabulary and their written language skills. Current trends in technology allow more options than ever before in the areas of reading, writing and communication.
Dan will focus on a variety of technology tools that can be used effectively for todays learners and teachers to enrich the learning experience, including the use of Virtual Reality, Robotics, building Social Communication using Technology, Effective Use of Google for SEN Students and Augmentative Communication Apps.
