Maharat Learning Center had a successful Coffee Morning at Humming Bird Nursery-Bay Square by Ms. Fern Harris, Senior Case Manager. Ms. Fern discussed the coping strategies for children with challenging behaviors which explained how everyone has different ways in which they deal with the day to day stresses of life. When working with children who present with challenging behaviors, the way in which coping strategies are presented, taught, and maintained are an important aspect of helping the child to regulate their behaviors. In addition to regulation of behavior, and management; different strategies will work for different children depending on their age, ability, and understanding. The objective of this talk was to provide the audience with different coping strategies for children, what these strategies look like, and how to best decide which strategies to use.
